Myx TV has a gift for K-pop fans this holiday season.
Billboard can exclusively reveal that the English-language, Asian-American entertainment channel is set to be the first U.S. cable network to air the K-pop music chart program Inkigayo and upcoming documentary K-Pop Incubation.
Inkigayo will air via two preview episodes on Thursday, Dec. 18, and Tuesday, Dec. 23, before the full series premiere on Jan. 14, 2015, all at 8:00pm EST. The series will feature episodes from the current season that airs weekly in Korea throughout 2015. Currently, K-pop fans can watch fellow chart program, M Countdown, on Mnet America.
Nearly every K-pop act with a new single performs on shows like Inkigayo in hopes to land the coveted first place slot. Winners are determined through a chart system that combines single sales, social media activity and fan votes to determine a weekly winner.
