Organizers are looking to establish Midem as a vital annual fixture for the international independent label community. The trade conference will host on Jan. 23 the second annual International Indie Summit, which will combine panel discussions and keynote sessions.
Seymour Stein, president/CEO of Sire Records, Martin Mills, chairman of Beggars Group, and Johnny Duann, co-founder and chairman of Rock Records, are confirmed to take part in the keynotes.
Chaired by Emmanuel Legrand, Billboard’s Global Editor, the Summit is organized in association with European indie labels’ trade body Impala and its U.S. counterpart A2IM. Impala will on Jan. 21 hold its annual board meeting in Cannes for the second successive year.
The 40th edition of Midem will take place in Cannes from Jan. 22-26, 2006.
