– Emblem Music Group has signed a distribution agreement with WEA. Under the terms of the agreement, Warner Brothers and WEA will provide international distribution for country artists Gloriana, and Warner will work with Emblem to market them. The band is currently scheduled to open for Taylor Swift on her 2009 “Fearless” tour. Emblem was founded by Matt Serletic, who previously founded Melisma Records. This is their first distribution agreement.
– Indie label Rock Ridge Music and management company and services provider Missing Piece Group have entered in to a strategic partnership. Under the terms of the deal, Rock Ridge Music will provide label and distribution services (via ADA) for select releases signed to Missing Piece, as well as offering administrative services for Missing Piece marketing projects. Missing Piece, which launched in January, will sign artists to license deals, manage artists, and provide marketing services. Missing Piece will be operating out of the recently-expanded Rock Ridge Music offices in Newark, New Jersey. Recent Rock Ridge releases include Attack! Attack! UK, Benjy Davis Project, Ken Block, Matt York, HalfDown Thomas, and Pat McGee.
