The American Assn. of Independent Music (A2IM) has firmed up details for its first West Coast meeting, to be held Monday, July 25, at the Knitting Factory in Los Angeles. Acting president Don Rose will be on hand, as well as four of A2IM’s seven interim board members.
Rose says the meeting will follow that of last month’s founder’s conclave in New York (BillboardBiz, June 6).
“It’s an introduction into who we are and what are objectives will be,” Rose says. In addition to Rose, A2IM representatives who will be on hand include Tommy Boy Records owner Tommy Silverman, TVT Records president Steve Gottlieb, Roadrunner Records senior VP/GM Doug Keogh and Lookout Records co-owner Molly Neuman.
Jared Hoffman, president of Knitting Factory Entertainment and an A2IM member, offered his venue as the Los Angeles meeting space. Those in the independent community wishing to attend should email Rob Weitzner at Rob@A2IM.org.
