L.A.-based rock act Incubus is embarking on a 100-date world tour of more than four continents, its largest road trip to date. The outing launches March 3 at the Budokan in Tokyo, and winds through such territories as the Philippines, Australia, Spain and the United Kingdom. The North American leg begins June 23 at the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, N.J. This is the band’s first venture into Phillipines, Malaysia and Ireland, among other countries.
A total of 62 dates are currently planned for North America, with the trek hitting mostly arenas and slated to wrap Oct. 11 at the Coliseum in Richmond, Va. All stateside shows are tagged with a $32.50 base ticket price. Incubus, whose last gigs were during Lollapalooza 2003, is out in support of its fifth Epic album “A Crow Left of the Murder.”
Additionally, fans can purchase tickets prior to general on-sales by playing “Crow” on their computers while logged onto Incubus’ official Web site. On-sales dates for the general public will be announced shortly on a per-market basis.
In each U.S. tour city, about 50 premium-seat tickets, which include a meet-and-greet with the band, will be auctioned off on eBay. All proceeds from these elite packages will go toward Incubus’ Make Yourself Foundation, which regularly donates money to a variety of non-profit organizations.
Finally, the group is planning to sell live CDs through its Incubus Bootlegs site. One show from each country on the upcoming tour will be featured exclusively on the site.
