Koch Records is further solidifying its brand by changing the name of its hip-hop imprint In The Paint Records to the main label name. In The Paint, founded four years ago, will now be known as Koch Records. It has recently signed such talents as Goodie Mob and BG.
The name change follows the announcement earlier this month that Koch’s Nashville imprint, Audium Records, was also becoming Koch Records.
As part of the latest move, In The Paint president Alan Grunblatt has been named executive VP/GM of Koch Records.
“This strategic move allows the various divisions of the record label to march under one Koch branded flag,” says Bob Frank, president of Koch Records. “It strengthens us as we continue to take advantage of this time of great opportunity for stealth-like entrepreneurial record companies.”
