Two-time Grammy nominee Imogen Heap will release “Ellipse,” the follow-up to her album “Speak For Yourself,” on Aug. 3 in the U.K. The singer songwriter confirmed the release date via Twitter.
It will be released through Heap’s label Megaphonic and licensed by Epic in the U.K. and RCA in the U.S.
During the creation of “Ellipse,” Heap actively engaged with her followers on Twitter – currently 430,000 – to co-wrote her biography, contribute to artwork designs and keep updated on the progress of the album.
After self-releasing “Speak For Yourself” in July 2005, Heap grew a large online following and amassed more than 40 million plays and 350,000 friends on MySpace, as well as over 7 million views on YouTube for the single “Hide and Seek.”
Heap signed a licensing deal for “Speak For Yourself” with Epic in the U.K. and RCA in the U.S. It has sold 425,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.
