IMG Artists, the London-based international talent agency and management group, has opened in Singapore its new Asia regional headquarters.
The move follows the recent strategic alliances formed with the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Singapore’s National Arts Council (NAC) to develop new local and pan-Asian live-entertainment events.
IMG’s global clients currently include numerous classical-music greats such as Evgeny Kissin, Itzhak Perlman, James Galway, plus renowned orchestras such as the Oslo Philharmonic with Andre Previn, and the St. Petersburg Philharmonic with Yuri Temirkanov. It also represents musicals such as “Saturday Night Fever” and “Riverdance.”
In Asia, IMG represents Singapore’s Esplanade Theatres on the Bay and the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, among others. The group also organizes tours for its clients in Asia, where it already operates an office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
“IMG Artists enhances the Council’s efforts to generate more synergy amongst various key players in the arts, and closer working relationships between local and foreign artists,” said NAC CEO Lee Suan Hiang in a statement. “The opening of their Asia office here signals international confidence in Singapore as a distinctive global city for the arts.”
