Ad-supported free streaming music service Imeem has launched an online contest that will give two artists a performance slot on the second annual Treasure Island Music Festival, to be held Sept. 20-21 on the titular island in San Francisco Bay.
To enter the “Mutiny and Mayhem” competition, artists must submit a live performance clip to the Treasure Island Music Festival’s official page on Imeem by July 28. A panel comprising Imeem staffers and promoters of the San Francisco event will judge the clip. The two winners of the contest will open the Tunnel Stage on each day of the festival. Winners will be announced on Aug. 18.
As previously reported, the Raconteurs and Justice will headline this year’s Treasure Island Music Festival. Other confirmed acts include TV On The Radio, Goldfrapp, Hot Chip, CSS, Antibalas, Aesop Rock, Amon Tobin, Foals, Mike Relm and Nortec: Bostich + Fussible, Tegan & Sara, Vampire Weekend, Spiritualized, Okkervil River, Tokyo Police Club, the Kills, Dr. Dog and John Vanderslice.
The event is spearheaded by the team behind San Francisco’s Noise Pop Festival as well as area promoter Another Planet Entertainment.
