The same afternoon Budweiser announced the lineup for this year’s Philadelphia edition of Made in America, the festival’s Los Angeles lineup has also been made public. Imagine Dragons, John Mayer, Kendrick Lamar and others will lead the bill for Made in America’s inaugural LA date.
With Imagine Dragons and Kendrick Lamar on the same bill, perhaps festival goers will get a repeat performance of their 2014 Grammys collaboration.
More festival news:
The fest hits downtown Los Angeles’ Grand Park on Labor Day weekend — August 30 and 31 — the same time as Made in America’s third annual Philadelphia stop.
Other big name acts for the Los Angeles festival include Steve Aoki, Weezer, Capital Cities, Chance thr Rapper, Rita Ora, and YG, who can pull off a mean collaboration with his frequent producer DJ Mustard, also performing.
Tickets are on sale now via livenation.com and its mobile app.
In its second year, attendance to the 2013 Made In America doubled from 40,000 to 80,000, a sign that further expansion might be afoot. Budweiser, Jay Z’s Roc Nation and the City of Los Angeles spent a good chunk of March and April convincing the City Council to hold an event in L.A.’s Grand Park downtown before a final agreement was reached. At a press conference announcing the expansion, Jay Z said, “I want to thank Budweiser for putting together a show that’s in the city, not some far-off place you can’t get to,” then quickly adding, “No disrespect to any other festivals, no shots. Look how beautiful this park is, it’s accessible to everyone, it’s inclusion it’s not exclusion. We started two years ago in Philadelphia and had huge success, and I’m sure we’ll have even more success here in Los Angeles. We’re very proud to be here in America.”
Kanye West, Kings of Leon, Tiësto and Pharrell Williams lead this year’s Philadelphia lineup.
