Californian producer Illenium is all about mixing future bass with emotional pop punk ballads.
He’s explored this integration of electronic and acoustic on his live tour in support of his album Awake, which evolved to Awake 2.0, ;and just celebrated its last festival date at EDC Orlando Sunday, Nov. 11. He treated his Florida fans to some new music, including a remix of Halsey‘s hit “Without Me,” which currently sits at No. 9 on the Hot 100.
Illenium adds acoustic guitar lines and just about a ton of boosted bass. It’s covered in his signature sheen, and the drop comes in with some electronic flourishes. It bumps at half-time rhythms, which makes it a slow burn. Another ballad from the California kid to help you through the feels.
