In what amounts to an unlikely pop and tropical alliance, Spanish pop star Enrique Iglesias is teaming up with urban/bachata group Aventura for a U.S. arena tour. The “Enrique Iglesias/Aventura” tour kicks off Sept. 4 in Laredo, Texas, and ends Oct. 5 in Rutherford, N.J.
The 15-stop tour includes stops in Connecticut, Chicago, Washington D.C., Miami and Atlanta, and will bring a mix of Iglesias’ pop and ballads together with Aventura’s romantic bachata. The New York-based trio were winners of this year’s song of the year award at the Billboard Latin Music Awards.
Igleisas played 27 concerts in Europe and Latin America in 2007 and released “95/08” in early 2008. The new single from that album, “Donde Están Corazón,” spent five weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart.
Iglesias recently performed the official EuroCup theme during the final match between Spain and Germany.
