What is Ruben Studdard’s favorite song of all time? What song does Clay Aiken consider his personal favorite? The answers will be revealed today (Aug. 11) on a special edition of “The Billboard Radio Countdown,” which can be heard at Billboardradio.com.
Studdard, Aiken and “American Idol” finalists Kimberley Locke, Trenyce, Carmen Rasmussen, Kimberly Caldwell, Rickey Smith, Julia DeMato and Charles Grigsby will all guest star on this special edition of the Countdown to reveal their all-time favorite songs.
Host Chuck Taylor interviewed all nine Idol contestants backstage at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, R.I. They are touring the country with American Idols Live, playing 41 dates on a cross-country trip that began in St. Paul, Minn., on July 8. The tour ends Aug. 31 in Anaheim, Calif.
Studdard, Aiken and the other seven Idol finalists talk to Taylor about their experiences on tour, and then introduce their all-time favorite songs, explaining why they chose their particular favorite as their No. 1 song.
Taylor will also welcome a few surprise guests, including some of the artists, writers and producers responsible for creating the Idols’ all-time favorites. These surprise guests will be delivering messages to the Idols who chose their songs.
“The Billboard Radio Countdown” debuted in 1999. This special marks the first time the New York-based show has been recorded on location.
