Austin, Texas-based Team Championships International has tapped Island Def Jam Music Group to be the official music partner of its 18th annual Hoop It Up 3on3 Natonal Basketball Tour.
Running March through August, with 51 tour stops nationwide, Hoop It Up events will feature meet-and-greets and appearances by up-and-coming artists in the Def Jam family. Additionally, the weekend events will be fueled by the music of Def Jam artists. A Def Jam-designated interactive area will also be part of the mix.
Through Hoop It Up, TCI and Def Jam are well poised to connect with their core demo: the urban marketplace. IDJMG VP of strategic marketing and development Jeff Straughn calls the partnership a natural fit–a “win-win.” TCI vice chairman and co-founder Dan Cramer says Def Jam’s contributions further elevate the overall look, feel and excitement of TCI events—specifically Hoop It Up’s 3on3 basketball tour.
