“Ran into the beautiful and talented @ddlovato at the studio today!” Menzel captioned the picture, which shows the pair smiling and dressed in cozy studio-ready attire. Lovato also reposted the pic to her Instagram Story, writing, “So nice to finally meet you @idinamenzel!”
While Lovato has yet to comment on any specific studio activity, the singer made a change in management last month, announcing that she has brought on Scooter Braun. “Couldn’t be happier, inspired and excited to begin this next chapter with you Scooter!!!” said Lovato in an Instagram post on May 11. Braun represents many successful pop artists including Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber.
Lovato previously teased new material in May 2018, promising that she has “so much new music to release very soon.”
Both Menzel and Lovator recorded versions of “Let It Go” on the Frozen soundtrack. Both versions entered the Billboard Hot 100 the same week (Dec. 14, 2013), though Menzel’s became the bigger hit, reaching No. 5 (compared to No. 38 for Lovato’s version).
