Rap and R&B producer LT Hutton’s film and TV production company, Program Pictures, has signed a first-look deal with Morgan Creek Productions.
While the terms of the deal were not disclosed, in general a first-look deal means that Morgan Creek will get the chance to team up with Program on the projects they develop before any other entity.
In the music arena, Hutton has worked with Snoop Dogg, Tupac Shakur, Bow Wow and Omarion.
“Expanding into the motion picture business was a natural transition for me since many of the artists I’ve worked with already have, or are about to make, the same transition,” Hutton says. “Being able to identify that next artist who can make the jump from music to film is going to give us the creative edge we need.”
Among the movies released by Morgan Creek include “The Good Shepherd,” starring Robert De Niro, Matt Damon and Angelina Jolie, as well the “Ace Ventura” series, which filmed its third installment late last year.
