The 2005 MTV Latin America Video Music Awards have been moved up a day with the threat of Hurricane Wilma. The awards, taking place at Playa del Carmen in the Mexican Caribbean, will now be held and pre-taped on Oct. 19, and air as planned on Oct. 20.
This is the first year that the Latin VMAs will take place outside of Miami. The evening will be hosted by Mexican rock band Molotov, and air on all MTV networks worldwide.
Performing acts include Foo Fighters, Good Charlotte, Ricky Martin, Simple Plan, Sean Paul, Shakira, Miranda, Belinda and Reik.
The VMAs held in the United States had a close call in August when hurricane Katrina swept through Miami days before the awards show.
