The executive, until recently Universal Music’s managing director Hong Kong and China, has joined the live music giant as senior VP for Greater China. He will split his time between Live Nation’s offices in Shanghai and Hong Kong.
The recruit will be tasked with developing Live Nation’s business in China, with a particular focus on touring Chinese and other regional artists throughout Greater China.
Comments Alan Ridgeway, CEO Live Nation International, in a statement: “His 18 years of experience in the local music industry will be invaluable as we expand our business in this market, taking advantage of the ever increasing demand for local and international live music.”
Live Nation is currently promoting Elton John’s sold-out shows yesterday in Singapore and May 20 in Hong Kong and is co-promoting with Scenique Productions the “2 Days of Freedom Festival” in Malaysia tonight and tomorrow. Live Nation also staged last year’s Live Earth concert in Shanghai on July 7.
