In the latest installment of Billboard’s lyrics quiz show “Finish the Hit,” host Taylor Ortega sought out to see how well people remember the lyrics to popular boy band songs from One Direction, Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC.
The episode kicks off with One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful,” as Ortega asks people if they can complete the lyric “You’re turning heads when you…” While the line ends with “walk through the door,” one guy guesses “fall asleep.”

Another contestant opts for a raunchier response when he’s asked to complete the line “The way that you flip your hair…” Instead of giving the correct response, which is “gets me overwhelmed,” he replies, “makes me want to give you the thrust.”
Ortega then moves on to the Backstreet Boys’ iconic song “I Want It That Way” which, as the band recently admitted, they don’t even really know what it means. After trying to explain the meaning to Chrissy Teigen via Twitter, Nick Carter recently told Billboard, “Truthfully, it’s still not explained,” while AJ McLean added that “sometimes the best answers is no answer at all.”
So the guys might not know what the song is actually about, but how well do music fans remember the words to the song? Given the line “Tell me why/Ain’t nothin’ but a heartache/Tell me why…” every single participant accurately answers “Ain’t nothin’ but a mistake.” Although they’re a bit less on the ball with another lyric from the track.
And finally, people on the street are asked to finish an *NSYNC hit, “Bye Bye Bye,” given the lines “Don’t want to be a fool for you/Just another player” and “You’re probably gonna start a fight.”
