Debuting last summer in Oakland, California, Porter Robinson‘s Second Sky festival was a big time success, with Robinson playing as both himself and his Virtual Self alter ego and curating a stacked lineup. 30,000 fans attended the sold-out two day event.
While the coronavirus has made another IRL show impossible this summer, Robinson is launching the second iteration of the festival — this time called Secret Sky — online this weekend. The Secret Sky lineup has once again been selected by Robinson and will include San Holo, Madeon, Jai Wolf and Robinson himself, among 14 other artists. See the complete lineup below.
The 14+ hour festival will start at 11 a.m. PST on Saturday morning (May 9) and can be viewed via Robinson’s YouTube and Twitch pages, on Playstation via the Littlstar App and on through Robinson’s custom-designed digital auditorium. The waiting room to this auditorium will open 30 minutes before the event starts on Saturday.
In partnership with Active Theory, Secret Sky attendees will enter a virtual auditorium where they can explore the venue. The festival will incorporate standard festival elements including visuals, vendor booths, and performances. Select artists will also take part in Q&A sessions from the “backstage” area.
Secret Sky will contribute proceeds to the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund with the help of event partners Postmates, Pioneer DJ, and Sapporo.
