Columbia U.K./Epic Records have confirmed Dec. 1 as the U.K. release date for its collaborative album with U.S. venue Hotel Café, “The Hotel Café Presents Winters Songs.”
Amongst the traditional Christmas melodies is Katy Perry’s version of “White Christmas”, “Frosty the Snowman” by Fiona Apple and KT Tunstall’s rendition of “Sleigh Ride.”
Released in the U.S. in October, the all-female record features new tracks as well as re-recordings of some holiday classics, including an exclusive medley of the traditional holiday tune “Auld Lang Syne.”
The original recordings include “Winter Song,” a duet with Ingrid Michaelson and Sara Bareilles, “The Heartache Can Wait” by Brandi Carlile, “Mistletoe” from Colbie Caillat, “All My Bells Are Ringing” from newcomer Lenka and “Maybe Next Year (X-Mas Song)” from Meiko.
Fifty cents from each album sale and at least 60 cents of each download sale of “Auld Lang Syne” will be donated to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure charity, which aids the fight against breast cancer.
