Pop star Miley Cyrus reigns atop the latest Hot Tours rankings based on totals from December European performances of her Wonder World Tour. Reported by promoter AEG Live, box office grosses totaled $21.9 million (US$) for 11 shows in four markets. London’s O2 Arena hosted the tour on five nights (Dec. 13-14, 19-20, 29) with ticket sales topping $11 million (£6.8 million) for the string of shows. Cyrus performed two-show runs in a pair of other U.K. cities: Birmingham (LG Arena, Dec. 22-23) and Manchester (Manchester Evening News Arena, Dec. 27-28). She also played two shows in Ireland (O2, Dublin, Dec. 16-17).

Veteran ranchera singer Vicente Fernández ranks at No. 2 with $3.8 million in ticket sales from six concerts at Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, Calif. last November. The shows continued his annual tradition of playing multiple concerts at the Southern California venue during the month of November. From 1996 through 2009, his overall November grosses at the amphitheatre surpass $35 million with attendance topping 385,000. Appearances in 2001 and 2002 included his son, Latin pop singer Alejandro, as co-headliner.
Grammy-winner Taylor Swift ranks third on the list of Hot Tours based on reports from two venues in Australia. Two sold-out concerts at Acer Arena in Sydney (Feb. 6-7) grossed just over $2 million ($2.3 Australian) with 27,030 fans in attendance. The Brisbane Entertainment Centre also reported their Feb. 4 sellout with a crowd of 11,334. Aussie company Michael Coppel Presents is promoting Swift’s Fearless Tour for its Australian leg. In March the tour returns to North America with dates booked through early June.
