‘Being’ ThereRaspy voiced R&B artist Macy Gray returns this week with her third Epic studio album, “The Trouble With Being Myself.” It’s the follow-up to Gray’s 2001 set “The Id,” which debuted at No. 11 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 576,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The set is highlighted by a series of love songs, including first single “When I See You” featuring Pharoahe Monch, “She Ain’t Right for You” and “She Don?t Write Songs About You.”
Gray is expected to tour the U.S. in the coming months in support of the album. In the meantime, she joins Rahsaan Patterson, Jamey Jaz, and DJ Spinna on Jimmy Sommers’ upcoming Gemini/Higher Octave album “Lovelife,” due Aug. 5.
