All The Hits, One More TimeThis week sees the release of several greatest hits packages from high-profile artists, led by Britney Spears’ “Greatest Hits: My Prerogative” (Jive). The set includes her rendition of Bobby Brown’s title track, the new cut “Do Somethin’,” and the rarity “(I’ve Just Begun) Having My Fun,” as well as the hits “… Baby One More Time,” “(You Drive Me) Crazy,” “Oops! I Did It Again” and “Toxic.”
Two different versions of the new song “Party for Two” (one with Sugar Ray’s Mark McGrath, the other with country newcomer Billy Currington) are featured on Shania Twain’s “Greatest Hits” (Mercury), along with “Any Man of Mine,” “(If You’re Not In It for Love) I’m Outta Here” and “No One Needs To Know,” all of which reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart.
Toby Keith’s own “Greatest Hits 2” (DreamWorks) sports the new single “Stays in Mexico,” the additional new tune “Go With Her” and a cover of the James Taylor/Carly Simon duet “Mockingbird,” featuring Keith’s daughter Krystal. Also featured are previously unreleased live renditions of “Should’ve Been a Cowboy” and “You Ain’t Much Fun.”
