Eminem, EarlyFor the second Eminem album in a row, piracy concerns have forced the original release date to be moved forward. “Encore” (Shady/Interscope) has been moved up to an off-cycle Friday (Nov. 12) release from Nov. 16. The set features the single “Just Lose It,” which earlier this fall debuted at No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100, the highest ever for an airplay-only track.
The accompanying video clip finds Slim Shady goofing on Michael Jackson circa “Billy Jean,” Pee Wee Herman and Santa Claus, as well as jogging in the nude down a busy street. Actors Erik Estrada (“CHIPS”) and Tony Cox (“Bad Santa”) make cameos.
“Encore” will also be available in a special collector’s edition housed in a telescoping box and featuring 25 glossy photo inserts. The new set is the follow-up to 2002’s “The Eminem Show,” which debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 and has sold more than 9.2 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
