Date With DestinyDestiny’s Child returns after an extended break this week with “Destiny Fulfilled” (Columbia), which has gotten a huge early boost from the single “Lose My Breath.” The track is No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 11 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks tally.
The album also includes “Soldier” featuring T.I. and Lil’ Wayne, “Is She the Reason” and “Through With Love.” Production was supplied by Rodney Jerkins, Rockwilder, Mario Winans and Rich Harrison, among others.
“Fulfilled” is Destiny’s Child’s follow-up to 2001’s “Survivor,” which hit No. 1 on The Billboard 200 and featured the No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 singles “Bootylicious” and “Independent Women Pt. 1.” Since then, group member Beyonce Knowles broke through as a solo superstar with the album “Dangerously in Love.”
Destiny’s Child will kick off a European tour May 14 in Copenhagen, sponsored by McDonald’s. “We always said we’d come back together… it’s more fun performing as a group,” Knowles says. “We’re planning to make this our biggest and most spectacular tour to date.”
