Mister MisterSinger/songwriter Jason Mraz returns this week with his sophomore album, “Mr. A-Z,” via Elektra/Atlantic. The Steve Lillywhite-produced set is led by first single “Wordplay,” which reached No. 17 on Billboard’s Adult Top 40 chart.
The new release “is my pseudo-self-titled second album,” Mraz says. “This time it’s all Mraz from beginning to end, the alpha and the omega, from the frontal lobe to the reptilian membrane, the A-Z, thus assigning it the nomenclature it naturally desired and deserved, ‘Mr. A-Z.'”
The set is the follow-up to Mraz’s 2002 debut, “Waiting for My Rocket To Come,” which reached No. 2 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart and has sold 933,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
