The ‘World’ Don’t Want Us
Country star Wynonna returns this week with a new studio album, “What the World Needs Now Is Love,” Aug. 12 through Curb Records. Produced by the artist and Dann Huff (Faith Hill, Jewel), the album is the result of a period of personal reflection.
“In recording the album, I really reached down into that place where you are ready to bear everything,” she says. “I dug deeper and sang harder. I gave it my all and that is so rewarding to me.”
The single “What The World Needs” has already finding a home at U.S. country radio outlets and is No. 14 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. “With ‘What the World Needs’ I have found my anthem, a song that speaks to me personally and professionally,” Wynonna says.
The set is the follow-up to 2000’s “New Day Dawning” (MCA), which debuted at No. 5 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and No. 40 on The Billboard 200.
