HMV U.K. & Ireland has appointed Matt Button, formerly of automobile manufacturer Lexus, to the newly-created position of head of customer relationship marketing (CRM).
According to the company, Button’s key objectives in the new role will include the development of a “next-generation” CRM strategy in support of its online and retail sales that integrates its online operation hmv.com with the company’s forthcoming customer rewards scheme.
He will report to London-based HMV marketing director, Graham Sim. In a statement, Sim said: “I am delighted that we have created a key CRM role within the business, and that a marketing professional of Matt’s experience and industry standing is joining the team to lead this strategy for us.”
Prior to joining HMV, Button was responsible for all forms of direct marketing with automobile manufacturer Lexus (GB). His previous direct marketing roles include spells at KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (U.K. & Ireland) and U.K. corporate training company Video Arts.
