– Souls of Mischief, Tanya Morgan, AOK Collective, Uncle Ralph McDaniels, Rob Flow and DJ Synapse will perform at the Knitting Factory in New York on Dec. 16. The concert is in support of the Souls of Mischief’s upcoming as-yet-untitled album, which producer Prince Paul will helm, slated for 2009. In addition, the Knitting Factory’s Manhattan location will close in 2009 and will reopen in Brooklyn later in the year.
– After releasing seven viral mixtapes bi-weekly via the Internet, MC Charles Hamilton is concluding his viral marketing campaign by releasing his final online mixtape, “Pink Lavalamp,” on Dec. 9 via Interscope Records.
– Rappers Wale, Kid Cudi, Colin Munroe, Che Grand along with Go-Go band UCB and DJ Nick Catchdubs will perform at New York’s Highline Ballroom on Dec. 9. Mark Ronson will be the special guest DJ and tickets are available at highlineballroom.com.
