The Harry Fox Agency, Inc. (HFA) has managed to research, clear and obtain mechanical licensing authority for all Grammy-nominated tracks — even those songs not represented in its catalog — in order to provide an on-demand listening service for Grammy voters.
“In this digital era, it was critical for us to quickly get these tracks up on the Grammy Web site for voter consideration, and HFA’s staff did a remarkable job in researching and clearing a high volume of licenses,” Recording Academy president/CEO Neil Portnow said in a statement.
HFA president/CEO Gary Churgin said that thanks to HFA’s database and extensive industry knowledge, the organization was able to license the requested Grammy-nominated categories in a period of less than two weeks from the announcement of the nominations.
This marks the second year HFA has worked closely with the Recording Academy on this Grammy voter listening service.
