Helen Mirren knows how to get a point across.
The self-described “notoriously frank and uncensored British lady” is featured in a commercial for Budweiser set to air during Super Bowl 50 on Sunday.
Unlike its previous comical commercials, the new Budweiser spot is direct in its message that drunk driving is unacceptable and those who do it are “stupid.”
Sitting at a table in a nice restaurant, the Oscar-winning actress expounds on the issue: “If you drive drunk, you, simply put, are a short-sighted, utterly useless, oxygen-wasting, human form of pollution,” she said. “A Darwin-award deserving, selfish coward. If your brain was donated to science, science would return it. So stop it.”
In addition to the Mirren spot, the company is also running the social media campaign, #GiveADamn, and donating $1 to safe ride programs every time it’s used through Sunday evening, according to the company. Donations will be capped at $1 million.
