The Terminal 5 World Duty Free (WDF) store at London Heathrow Airport will host a live performance from Natalie Anderson, of ITV medical drama “The Royal,” just days before the release of her debut album, “Return To Me” (Shepherd Productions) in the U.K. The record is out Dec. 1.
The performance will also be screened across 118 LCD TV screens in the airport’s four WDF stores, including a multi-panelled “wonder wall” backdrop behind the Terminal 5 WDF store stage. Prior promotion will be carried out on the screens to inform passengers of the performance.
The concept has already been utilized for another emerging artist Ela Soza, who performed Sept. 25.
“Digital out of home media is growing rapidly and being able to use our digital media in this exciting way will not only provide a stage for well known stars such as Natalie, but will also attract up and coming talent,” said Jo O’Connor, commercial and marketing director for World Duty Free, in a statement.
WDF says it is now looking to expand the events with more music performances and to attract sponsorship for the events from key business partners.
