In promotion of their recent album Made in the A.M., One Direction appeared on Ellen to play “Never Have I Ever.” Right off the bat, Ellen asks the juicy, gossip-y questions: “Never have I ever had someone write a song about me,” clearly in reference to Taylor Swift’s “Style.” Harry Styles tries to remain coy and unwilling throughout the game, but as the game progresses, reluctantly ended up sharing he has hooked up with a fan.

In his FADER cover story, the former One Direction member Zayn Malik reveals that the “shipping” of members has been the root of some awkwardness between the members. 1D member “shipping” has sparked rumors that there are actual beyond-platonic relationships between the English lads. Malik stated, “There’s no secret relationships going on with any of the band members.”
He added,“It’s not funny, and it still continues to be quite hard for them. They won’t naturally go put their arm around each other because they’re conscious of this thing that’s going on, which is not even true. They won’t do that natural behavior. But it’s just the way the fans are. They’re so passionate, and once they get their head around an idea, that’s the way it is regardless of anything. If it wasn’t for that passionate, like, almost obsession, then we wouldn’t have the success that we had.”
