UPDATE: At 7:00 pm ET, HARD Events announced that it would offer credentials to “qualifying media” outlets, releasing the following statement:
“Due to interest and demand from media to cover the artists and performers at Hard, the organizers have revised their policy to now offer credentials to qualifying media.”

Festival representatives confirmed to Billboard that no media credentials will be issued for the two-day Halloween-themed festival from Oct. 31 – Nov. 1 in Pomona, Calif..
Disputing reports of a “media blackout,” representatives cited reduction in venue capacity for the decision not to issue comp tickets this year. However, festival reps said artist riders and guest lists would not be cut due to contractual obligations, and could not name credentials other than media that would be affected by the new policy.
The move is the latest in a series of policy changes since two attendees, aged 18 and 19, died of apparent drug overdoses at HARD Summer in August. Since then, Live Nation has increased the age requirement to 21+ and reduced venue capacity to 40,000 attendees.
While media outlets will not be allowed to cover the event in an official capacity, expect plenty of footage to emerge. According to their website, Day of the Dead does permit the use of Go-Pros, non-professional flash and still cameras, smartphones, and phone chargers.
