Brotherly pop band Hanson, which parted ways with Island Def Jam earlier this year, has set a summer North American acoustic tour. At the shows, the group will unveil a number of songs slated for its as-yet-untitled fourth album.
It’s the first tour in three years for the trio, and more shows are expected. The 13 confirmed dates start Aug. 9 in Towson, Md., and wrap Aug. 28 in West Hollywood, Calif.
Taylor Hanson told Billboard in May that the group’s sound has evolved into something “that people can play on the radio and girls can like it, and guys don’t have to be offended by it or vice versa.” The new album, still without a label, was primarily produced and written by Hanson, with guest appearances by Michelle Branch and Matthew Sweet.
The new set will be the group’s first since 2000’s “This Time Around,” which has sold 270,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.
