
On Tuesday (July 12), GLAAD, in cooperation with Interscope Records, released a lyric video for the single “Hands,” which benefits the victims and families affected by the Orlando mass shooting.
“Hands” — which was released July 5 — tells the story of the power held in one’s hands: “They can break the world/ They can change it too.” The single recites lyrics that portrays the good and bad that is done in someone’s hands, including building and breaking barriers: “If a millions hands can build a wall/ A million hands can break it down.”

The video features Patience Carter, Tiara Parker and Angel Anthony Santiago, all survivors of the shooting that occurred at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida, on June 12. Other notable faces include a handful of YouTube sensations, including Kingsley, Rebecca Black, Gigi Gorgeous and Scott Hoying of Pentatonix and Superfruit.
Artists who took part in the single include Mary J. Blige, Selena Gomez, Jason Derulo, Imagine Dragons, Jennifer Lopez, P!nk, Meghan Trainor, Prince Royce, Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani, RuPaul, Adam Lambert, Mary Lambert, Tyler Glenn, Halsey, Ty Herndon, Juanes, Kacey Musgraves, MNEK, Alex Newell, Nate Ruess, Troye Sivan, Jussie Smollett and the Trans Chorus of Los Angeles.
Profits from the single are set to go to Equality Florida Pulse Victims Fund, the GLBT Community Center of Central Florida and GLAAD.
