The Hamilton cast could have been anywhere in the world tonight, and they chose to be with the Obamas in New York City Washington, D.C., where the cast of the acclaimed (and recently Grammy-winning) musical will perform a selection of songs from the show, following a day of workshops led by the cast for area high school students.

President Obama will introduce the performance, and his remarks, as well as the first number, will be live-streamed. Earlier Monday (March 14), Mrs. Obama got in touch with her inner-fangirl while introducing the cast and welcoming students to the White House, calling the show an ” amazing story that is beautifully told” and her favorite piece of art ever.
