Actor and musician Anthony Ramos has signed with CAA for representation in all areas worldwide. Ramos played the breakout dual role of John Laurens and Philip Hamilton in the Broadway hit Hamilton, originating the roles during the musical’s debut run in New York. He also sings on the original Broadway cast’s recording of the musical, which won the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album in 2016. The recording also took home the Billboard Music Award for Top Soundtrack/Cast Album in 2017.
Ramos followed up his success in Hamilton with a starring role as Mars Blackmon in Spike Lee’s She’s Gotta Have It. The Brooklyn-born artist also contributed original music to the Netflix series. Ramos also played the reoccurring role as Tony on the new Will & Grace.
Next up, Ramos will be seen in Reinaldo Marcus Green’s Monsters and Men that premiered this year at Sundance. The film, which features Ramos in the starring role of Manny, was acquired by Neon.
Ramos also lent his musical and acting talents to Live Nation Productions’ feature film, A Star is Born. Due out in 2018, A Star Is Born features Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, who also directs the drama.
Upcoming appearances for Ramos also include the Ed Burns film, Summertime, and the Warner Bros. production of Godzilla: King of Monsters.
In January, Ramos released his first solo EP Freedom. The singer told Billboard last year that his solo effort was inspired by the 2016 election and are thoughtful songs that reflected on the state of the country.
Ramos is represented by manager Jill McGrath at Door24, attorneys Erik Hyman at Paul Hastings LLP and Debra White at Loeb & Loeb, business manager Teri Martin, and publicists Chris Kanarick, Lindsay Krug, and Rhett Usry at ID Public Relations.
