Finally, we’ll learn how it all began.
After over a year of build-up, Halsey has released the trailer for her song and the final installment of the Hopeless Fountain Kingdom saga, “Strangers” ft. Lauren Jauregui.
“Strangers” will conclude the story Halsey has been revealing through a series of self-directed music videos based on songs from her second full-length album. The Romeo and Juliet inspired story centers around the star-crossed relationship of Luna (Halsey) and Rosa (played by Lauren Jauregui), which has been fleshed out in videos for “Now or Never,” “Bad at Love,” “Sorry” and “Alone.”

In the bloody trailer, Luna and Rosa battle it out in the boxing ring, throwing punches that leave visible marks. In line with the rest of the Hopeless Fountain Kingdom story, the violence is filled with fervor and has layers of subtext to unpack.
Over the weekend, Halsey addressed the wait and her own excitement for “Strangers” in a tweet. “It’s the most special one!!!!!! It killed me to wait. Everyone wanted it so badly I was dying.”
“Strangers” is set to premiere on June 20. Get ready for both the beginning and the end.
