Performing at the Pandora Live concert in Brooklyn, Halsey dedicated her global hit “Without Me” to her friend and collaborator Juice WRLD (real name Jarad Higgens), who died Sunday (Dec. 8) aged 21.
Juice featured on the remix of “Without Me,” which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 earlier this year. “The remix of this song is the better version of this song, and I think everybody knows that deep down inside,” Halsey told the packed crowd at Avant Gardner. Before diving into the track, she added a heartfelt reminder: “Life is short, we should appreciate every single moment that we have together.”
Halsey also live debuted her song “Finally // beautiful stranger” and performed “Clementine,” both from the pop artist’s forthcoming album Manic, due for release Jan. 17, 2020.

Earlier this week, Halsey remembered Juice with a photo and reflection posted to social media. “Sweet boy. The fastest brain in the game. Your creativity, endless. Immortal. Rest in power. I can’t even explain the sadness,” reads her message, capturing a photo of the pair enjoying a light moment.
Juice WRLD died at a local hospital on Sunday morning after suffering a seizure at Chicago’s Midway Airport. A subsequent autopsy to determine the cause of the Chicago rapper’s death was inconclusive, according to reports.
