Ariana Grande and Halsey have both experienced more than anyone should when it comes to vitriol on social media, and Halsey stepped in to comfort Grande — and call out her haters — in a tense moment on Twitter.
“some of the s–t i read on here makes me sick to my stomach,” Grande wrote late Saturday night (Nov. 24). “it scares me the way some people think and i don’t like this world a lot of the time.”
some of the shit i read on here makes me sick to my stomach. it scares me the way some people think and i don’t like this world a lot of the time. if only we could be more compassionate and gentle with one another. that’d be sick.

Halsey then stepped in to offer some support — “the world could only dream of being as compassionate and gentle as you” — before telling those spreading negativity to “shut the f–k up.”
ari the world could only dream of being as compassionate and gentle as you. and since ur being, as always, so classy and nice, allow me the honor of telling them to shut the fuck up.

Grande took a social media hiatus earlier this fall following the end of her engagement to Pete Davidson and the tragic death of her ex, Mac Miller, and shared a similar sentiment back in October: “It’s hard not to bump news n stuff that I’m not trying to see rn. It’s very sad and we’re all tryin very hard to keep going.”
Since then, she’s returned to the internet to call out misogyny when she sees it (most recently taking Piers Morgan to task), and lately she’s been eagerly sharing several photos from the set of her upcoming video for “Thank U, Next” with her fans across Instagram and Twitter.
