With her boundless team spirit on The Voice and her colorful style, Gwen Stefani is often all smiles. However, that did not prevent the “Hollaback Girl” from putting the pom poms down and keeping things candid about her divorce from Gavin Rossdale on 94.7 Fresh FM’s The Tommy Show.
“There’s so many bad things…Oh my god. I can’t even believe it,” Stefani said, per US Weekly. “I wish it didn’t happen. I wish that it all wasn’t happening, but at the same time, I feel like it was part of my life journey. In my life, I’ve had two really bad heartbreaks, and I’ve written some incredible music out of it.”
Nevertheless, Stefani is grateful for the good that has come out of a bad situation — for one, her relationship with fellow Voice coach Blake Shelton. In addition, with the recent release of “Used To Love You,” Stefani is stoked to be making music again.
“At the same time, there are lots of good things, and I do get to have a second chance, and I have a lot of joy right now,” Stefani said. “I’m in such a great place because I’ve been writing music, and for me that’s… everything that I love about being alive, because I haven’t been able to do it for so long.”
