Gwen Stefani was so excited to have Royce Lovett on her team, she began to dance.
On Tuesday night’s (Sept. 24) episode of NBC’s The Voice, Royce Lovett took the stage for his blind audition, performing Wyclef Jean’s “911.” The genre is right up Stefani’s alley, so she immediately pressed her button to indicate that she wanted the crooner on her team. Upon getting into the chorus, the songstress jumped to her feet and began to sway to the beat.
The fun ended when boyfriend Blake Shelton also pressed his button, and the two had to fight for Lovett’s attention. “Obviously, I love you,” Stefani told the singer, before fellow coach Kelly Clarkson chimed in, “She has not danced for anyone.”
“This is not his lane. This is my lane,” Stefani added, dismissing Shelton. In order to try to stand a chance, the country crooner began to say, “Royce, I have a Lake playlist that consists of Bob Marley and Jimmy Buffett, who I know is–“
“So different than Bob Marley,” Clarkson interjected, to which Shelton surrendered, “Alright, screw it, just pick Gwen.”
Royce, as expected, chose Stefani as his coach for the season. Watch it all go down below.
