U.K. independent label Gut Records has struck an exclusive licensing arrangement with the Orchard which allows the content aggregator to digitally distribute and market the Gut Recordings group of labels worldwide.
The pact covers all Gut works, including catalog albums and singles from such artists as Tears for Fears, Polyphonic Spree, Sparks, Right Said Fred and Crazy Frog, and forthcoming frontline artists releases featuring Fightstar, Jessie J, and Medallist, among others.
“In this ever changing, demanding, consumer driven digital age, every record company needs to make sure that they are working with all of the very best world wide digital partners,” comments Gut managing director Guy Holmes in a statement. “We are very confident and excited about these new and expanding opportunities that this new multi platform partnership with the Orchard will give to the Gut Group.”
Established by Holmes in 1991, Gut’s labels include Gut Recordings, Tug, Gusto, GI, Institute and GTV/Gut Active.
