About a year after Rolling Stone founder Jann Wenner tapped his 23-year-old, fresh-out-of-college son Gus to lead RollingStone.com, the younger Wenner has been promoted to head of digital for all Wenner Media’s digital titles, including the websites for Us Weekly and Men’s Journal.
“Under Gus’s direction, RollingStone.com has reached new heights … and we are certain he will have continued success in expanding his focus to further the development of UsMagazine.com and MensJournal.com,” said Jann Wenner, chairman of Wenner Media, in a press release originally cited by the New York Observer.
David Kang, former chief digital officer of Wenner Media, has also been promoted to chief revenue officer for the company. “Under David’s leadership, we’ve grown our digital business exponentially,” added Wenner. “We look forward to bringing his talents and expertise to his new role, where he will develop and grow the Rolling Stone and Men’s Journal brands across all platforms.”
This news follows a round of staff changes at Rolling Stone late last year.
