Guns ‘N Roses will rock Australia early next year.
The reunited rock giants have announced its Not in this Lifetime tour will drop into stadiums in each of the market’s five biggest cities. The Australia leg will kick off Feb. 7 at QSAC Stadium and will pause in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide before wrapping up Feb. 21 at Perth Domain Stadium.
The dates will mark the first time GNR and its founding members Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan have played together Down Under since their unforgettable monster dates at Eastern Creek (Sydney) and Calder Park (Melbourne) on the 1993 Use Your Illusion tour.
Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Aug. 26, priced from A$91.64 ($70) plus fees, with special pre-sales for Telstra customers opening from Aug. 23. TEG Dainty, led by its president and CEO Paul Dainty, is producing the Australia tour.
The veteran rock outfit boasts 14 top 50 singles on the ARIA Singles Chart, and each of its albums is platinum or multi-platinum certified Down Under, led by Greatest Hits which is eight-times platinum and spent 346 weeks on the ARIA Albums Chart. Appetite For Destruction is also eight-times platinum; the chart-topping Use Your Illusion 1 is four-times platinum and Use Your Illusion 2 is five-times platinum.
The Spaghetti Incident and the long-delayed comeback album Chinese Democracy opened at No. 1 and No. 3, respectively, on the ARIA Albums Chart and each is platinum certified.
GNR is currently on the road in North America, with a pair of dates at L.A.’s Dodger Stadium this Thursday and Friday next up, followed by a tour closer next Monday (Aug. 22) at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego. The South America run is scheduled to kick off Oct. 27 at Estadio Monumental in Lima, Peru.
