Tropical music superstar Juan Luis Guerra and two members of Maná will play a benefit concert Mar. 11 to raise funds for a nationwide Latino get-out-the-vote campaign.
The concert, titled “Poder,” (“power”), will be held at Miami’s Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. The proceeds will benefit “Ya es Hora, ¡Ve y Vota!,” a campaign to mobilize Latino voters in this fall’s U.S. Presidential election.
The campaign is being led by a consortium of Latin media companies and political organizations, including Univision Communications, Entravision Communications, the National Council of La Raza and the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials.
Guerra and his band 440 will be joined onstage for some songs by Maná’s lead vocalist and drummer, Fher Olvera and Alex González.
