After months of speculation and a secret film shoot in Cuba, Guava Island is here, and the short film starring Rihanna and Donald Glover is sparking tons of conversation — and quite a few tears — in the hours following its debut at Coachella.
Those who didn’t get the chance to hit the super exclusive premiere on the festival grounds or see the film via YouTube’s Coachella livestream on Friday night (April 12) can now stream the film on Amazon Prime, and Twitter is flooded with sobbing emojis, praise for Rihanna and several rounds of applause for Glover’s genius as well.
Spoilers pepper Twitter, but one fact that’s taken the film’s viewers completely off-guard: Rihanna doesn’t sing a measure of music in Guava Island — Glover is the one playing the guitar and flexing triple-threat status in numerous scenes — and the general reaction to this skews from shocked to dismayed.
Check out some select reactions to Glover and Rihanna’s performances in Guava Island below.
