Shuffling through a lively, energetic crowd of fans and hotel guests shortly after 8:30pm, Gryffin took the stage at the W Hotel in Washington, D.C on Weds. (Oct. 26) as he blazed through his collection of productions for a special private performance.
He began his set with the airy textured remix of Years & Years‘ “Desire”. With the famed Washington Monument as his backdrop, the entertainer continued to roll out popular mixes like fewllow Years & Years rework “King” to “Banks” — Gryffin’s collab with DJ duo Hotel Garuda. Gryffin’s upbeat productions bounced off the walls as the crowd danced throughout his set. “D.C., this is a vibe”, the producer said, often thanking the fans gathered in his honor.
Gryffin’s performance concluded the four-part Next Up: New Artists In Music Series, a partnership between Billboard and W Hotels, which kicked off in May with R&B newcomer Gallant, and also recognized emerging artists like Bebe Rexha and Skizzy Mars.
The “Heading Home” producer is known to infuse his breezy house production style into an array of smash hits, such as Ariana Grande and The Weeknd‘s “Love Me Harder” and Tove Lo‘s “Talking Body” — with his remix of the latter reaching over 18 million plays on Soundcloud. Gryffin is currently on his Whole Heart trek across the states, making stops in Los Angeles and Austin, among other cities.
